Dr. Sukanya Krishnamurthy, SUM participant in the NWO-SURF Smart Cycling Futures Research Consortium and PhD co-supervisor for the dissertation project of George Liu on urban form, is assistant professor of Urbanism and Urban Architecture at the Eindhoven University of Technology on the interface of urban, social, and cultural geography. Her scholarship focuses on the various narratives through architectural forms. She has published on aggregated and individual socio-spatial practices, growth management and policy, cultural heritage, and place identity. She has been a principal investigator and team member on research projects in the EU, Canada, and India, combining urban and socio-cultural studies to analyze how cities can use their resources and values for better sustainable development.
