Siddique Motala

Siddique Motala is the academic lead of Global Digital Heritage Afrika (GDHA), a research group dedicated to the digital preservation, virtualisation and research of African Heritage. He is also a member of the Centre for Transport Studies in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa. He is a trained land surveyor and holds a PhD in Education. At UCT, he teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Civil Engineering. His research interests are spatio-temporal mapping, 3D heritage preservation, storytelling, posthumanism and socially just pedagogies in engineering education. He co-edited Higher Education Hauntologies: Living with Ghosts for a Justice-to-Come (Routledge, 2021), with V.Bozalek, M. Zembylas and D. Hölscher.
