Bernardo Campos Pereira is an architect (University of Waterloo, Canada 1996), advisor for cycling infrastructure projects, planning and policy to Lisbon and other municipalities and organisms in Portugal. He finished his PhD at Universidade de Aveiro in 2022 on cyclists’ coalitions and how they have shaped urban cycling through their impact on public policy formulation and implementation, entitled: “How cyclists’ coalitions shape cycling: an analysis of policy change in Lisbon’s mobility paradigm from 2009 to 2021,” which was featured in the newspaper Público, an important Portuguese newspaper. He works at Lisboa E-Nova – Lisbon’s Energy and Environmental Agency–the agency responsible for reintroducing sustainable mobility policy into Lisbon’s energy, climate & environmental governance mechanisms.
