Nthoki Dorcas is an Urban Development Researcher at International Planning Studies, TU Dortmund University. Her research centres on spatial justice in the city and urban mobility. Her doctoral research addressed the prospects for advancing walking and cycling in Nairobi within the context of spatial justice. Nthoki previously worked with the Development Planning Unit (DPU), University College London on Complex Land Markets and Spatial Justice research in Uganda and Somaliland. She also worked at the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS), Erasmus University, Rotterdam where she taught and supervised the Urban Management and Development Master course. She also contributed to the development of a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on data analysis for social science research and to the development of the UN Habitat State of African Cities 2018 report.
