Janne Heymeijer graduated in 2024 from the Erasmus University Rotterdam with an International Bachelor in History. The focus area of her bachelor was Cultural History, using culture as a frame to explore the experiences and events of the past. This culminated in a bachelor’s thesis that explored the cultural impact of WWI in Australian society in the years 1914 to 1945 — the years during and immediately following the war. As part of her BA, she completed an internship with Cycling Cities, centring her internship around the book, exhibition, and workshops for Cycling Cities: The African experience.
She is also a founding member and editor of History Collective, Erasmus University’s Student Journal of History Studies. History Collective aims to promote otherwise marginalised voices and their histories in the academic field and is centred around students, as authors, as editors, and as readers.
